heal · grow · live

Hi! I'm Julie. I graduated from Clemson University with my M.Ed. in Professional Counseling. I have been in private practice in the Charleston area since 2013. I specialize in marriage and couples counseling, premarital counseling, individual counseling, and Christian counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I'm currently certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors. I hold certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and in my work with couples I practice Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).
I have dedicated my career to helping people get their lives back on track. I believe that you can live an abundant life from here forward, no matter where you are or how you got there. As your counselor, I will help you set goals for therapy and reach them through a variety of techniques. I am here to help you see that healing is possible and can be a reality for your life.
I am trained to recognize patterns in emotion and behavior. I will use my training to help you better understand the things that burden you. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a proven model that identifies where false thinking patterns come from and teaches you how to correct them. For therapy related to couples, I use a model called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which re-engineers the predictable negative cycles that couples get stuck in. I will teach you how to recognize those cycles as they happen, how to communicate effectively through conflict, and how to express your needs & reach for connection in a way that your partner is able to receive.
Introducing our graduate intern from Liberty University
Hi! I am Keelie Henderson, a graduate student at Liberty University. I have plans to graduate in December 2025, and I am pursuing my LPC licensure. I earned my bachelor's degree from Creighton University with a major in Political Science and minor in Criminal Justice while playing for the Creighton Women’s Soccer team. I am from Kansas City, Missouri but have lived in Charleston for three years.
I recognize that entering counseling can be a big step. My passion lies in empowering individuals to see value in their stories, overcome challenges, and achieve personal growth. I strive to provide an environment that cultivates insight and fosters healing for each individual.
